Jaselyn Taubel graduated from the College of St. Benedict in 2010 with a BA in Economics. She earned departmental distinction and third place in the 2010 Minnesota Economic Association Undergraduate Student Paper Contest for her senior thesis, “Ignorance is Bliss… Or is It? An Empirical Look at the Relationship Between Higher Education and Happiness.” After working in the world of business for 5 years, she realized academia was calling her back. She will begin the Ph.D. program in economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Fall 2016, where she plans to focus on the economics of education.
